The specialist for frozen foods GETI WILBA from Northern Germany and the company Josef Maier GmbH from Bad Woerishofen, Bavaria, bundle their expertise and knowledge of the game meat processing industry. Thomas Maier, until now sole owner of “Maier-Wild”, is fully incorporating with GETI WILBA GmbH & Co. KG in return for shares in the GETI WILBA Group.
It is a merger of two market leaders that complements and reinforces each other’s production and sales structure in this new alliance.
Maier-Wild’s special strengths lie in the purchase of deer, wild boar and roe deer and in the cutting of unskinned game. On the sales side the company is a leading exporter and supplier to wholesalers. GETI WILBA in turn proves outstanding competence from the simple processing of game meat to the highest quality standards, the ready-made game meal. The company’s key strength is in the processing of hare. As far as sales are concerned GETI WILBA has excellent business connections with large retailers, wholesalers and home delivery companies.
Together they are able to offer the entire range of game meat products to German as well as European customers in the food trade and food manufacturing industry. By joining their production capacities and purchasing resources they guarantee maximum stability in a difficult market situation with limited raw material resources also for large customers.
The Josef Maier GmbH & Co. KG will continue to operate as an independent company in the market. For long-term customers of GETI WILBA and Maier-Wild nothing changes. Above all customers will benefit from a higher level of supply- and raw material safety as well as an extended product portfolio. Everything remains the same for the employees, too. All locations will be kept. This merger will provide greater security and additional growth potential in the highly competitive game meat market.
